Master´s of Management
The Master's program in Management is designed as a consecutive program. It builds on the broadly based bachelor's degree in business and is specifically designed to supplement and deepen management-relevant technical, methodological and individual skills.
The program is designed to enable students to lead and shape decision-making processes in companies and public administration, taking into account national, international and ethical aspects, and to creatively develop and refine practical solutions using scientific methods and conceps.
Structure and Content of the Study Program
Semester 1: Basics
During the first semester students get an overview over different management fields and can choose between two compulsory elective modules to sharpen their profile.
Semester 2: Study Focus
During the second semester students, choose one of the three study focuses and are again able to choose between two compulsory elective modules. The three study focuses are Marketing, Sustainable Management and General Management.
Semester 3: Company Internship
The third semester is defined by the company internship students do in a management or business related field. Two modules flank the internship phase, one is a case study in management and the other one is innovation and entrepreneurship.
Semester 4: Master Thesis
In the fourth semester the students write their master’s thesis and finish their studies with the defense of the master’s thesis.
Study Focus
Study Focus 1: Marketing
The students attend the three modules: Marketing Management, Sales Management and Information Systems in and for Marketing.
Study Focus 2: Sustainable Management
The students attend the three modules: Sustainable Corporate Management and Sustainable Reporting, Sustainable Logistics and Operations Research and Sustainable Economics.
Study Focus 3: General Management
The students choose three of the following nine modules: Business Analytics, Strategic issues in Management Accounting, Instruments and Methods in Management Accounting, Marketing Management, Sales Management, Information Systems in and for Marketing, Sustainable Corporate Management and Sustainable Reporting, Sustainable Logistics and Operations Research and Sustainable Economics.
Career Prospects
With a successfully completed Master's program, there is the possibility of a doctorate (acquisition of the doctoral title) at an university.
