Master´s of Accounting and Controlling

The Master's program in Accounting and Controlling is designed as a consecutive study program with a workload of 120 credits over a study period of two years.

It imparts a broad and well-founded business qualification with a focus on central accounting systems of corporate management.

The program is designed to enable students to take on challenging tasks in national and international companies and to independently and competently search for scientifically sound new solutions.

 

Structure and Content of the Study Program

Semester 1-2: Basics

During the first two semesters of their master’s degree, students deepen their knowledge in accounting and related areas such as financial accounting. To specialize their own profile students choose one of two compulsory elective modules during their first semester.

Semester 3: Internship

The third semester is defined by the company internship students do in an accounting related field. Two modules flank the internship phase, one is accounting specific and the other one is a case study in management.

Semester 4: Master thesis

In the fourth semester the students write their master’s thesis and finish their studies with the defense of the master’s thesis.

 

Career Prospects

With a successfully completed Master's program, there is the possibility of a doctorate (acquisition of the doctoral title) at an university.
