Master´s of Corporate Accounting
The full-time master's program takes into account the growing importance of accounting, controlling and taxation. Access to higher civil service and doctoral programs is opened up.
The master's program in management accounting is a four-semester, consecutive study program. It is aimed at graduates of business programs such as business administration, economics, (international) management, industrial engineering or business informatics who, after completing one of these first professional degrees, wish to use the master's program for further academic qualification and professional entry into practice.
Structure and Content of the Study Program
The first semester includes courses from the areas of business analysis, sustainable business management and is also devoted to macroeconomic issues.
In the second semester, students are taught skills in controlling, accounting and international corporate taxation. In addition, a general elective program is offered, which enables the students - depending on their (planned) professional orientation - to acquire further knowledge. In addition, there is a specific elective program in the area of accounting and corporate taxation.
The third semester deals with value management and controlling as well as financial management issues. You will also put the knowledge you have acquired so far to the test during a 14-week practical phase. This usually takes place on a project basis in cooperation with interesting practice or research partners.
The last semester is used to write the master's thesis and thus offers the opportunity to deal with a topic in a scientific, in-depth and practical manner.
Career Prospects
As a successful graduate of the master's program, you will be in a position to take on outstanding tasks and positions in business and administration. This includes working in internal departments of controlling, accounting and corporate taxation as well as in tax consulting and auditing companies. In addition, you will be equipped for management tasks in an international environment. The degree enables you to subsequently study for a doctorate and fulfills the educational requirements for a career in the higher service of public administration.
