Marina, Summer Semester 2023, Brazil
Hey everyone! My name is Marina Pelegrini. I am 25 years old and currently studying Business at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed of studying abroad and gaining different perspectives on culture, language, life, and knowledge. I truly cannot put into words everything I am experiencing and learning here. The International Office has supported my stay in Germany since even before I arrived. I am taking excellent classes in marketing, accounting, and business, which are greatly complementing my degree.
Besides my studies, I am learning German, discovering new cultures with other exchange students, and traveling to nearby cities like Düsseldorf and Cologne. The International Office did a wonderful job preparing my student residence and helping me during my first few days. I am truly grateful to the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences. Don’t hesitate to experience the best exchange program of your life!

Viktor, Summer Semester 2023, Brazil
My first contact with Westfälische Hochschule was via email three months before I arrived in Germany. From the very beginning, the team was incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions. When I arrived, the reception by the International Office and the Business Department was very thoughtful—for example, the pickup service from the Gelsenkirchen Main Station was a huge help.
I am grateful to the International Office not only for acting as a liaison with the city of Gelsenkirchen and handling the bureaucracy and documentation (such as city registration and residence permits) but also for the integrative activities. These included wonderful trips to discover Berlin and Cologne, a special welcome reception for international students, and various tours that are still ongoing.
The classes are excellent and very interactive. I would especially like to thank the Business Department coordination for the personal attention they gave me, both in choosing my subjects and in answering my questions about the course. In conclusion, I am truly enjoying my exchange program—learning German, experiencing the amazing local culture, discovering new places, and meeting new people. Thank you so much, Westfälische Hochschule!
