Health Insurance for Exchange Students
1. Students from countries within the European Union only need to present their EU health insurance card.
2. Non-EU students (coming from a country outside the European Union), need a travel insurance for the first 4 to 6 weeks of their stay in Germany. This travel insurance must have a coverage of 30.000,00€.
After arriving to Germany, you have register with a German health insurance for students. The insurance fee amounts to approx. 110,00€ per month.
You will obtain more information about distinct health insurance companies during your enrolment and we will support you with your registration process.
Please don’t take out private health insurance in your home-country for the whole period of your stay in Germany. This kind of insurance won't be accepted and you would have to pay cash for medicine, medical treatment and a stay in hospital!
